A. CAlcium Gluconate Molecular formula is :C12 H22 O14 Ca Molecular weight 430.37 g /Mol So, in 430.37g amount of calcium will be 40g In 1g of ca.Glucante, the amount of Calcium will be 40/430.37 g = 0.0929g = 92 milligrams Is it clear? hope this helps!

A. So, there are several different forms of calcium supplements. Calcium carbonate, calcium citrate, there are pills, chewables and liquids. I think Vitamin World might be the only store that sells calcium in a liquid form which is easier to absorb. The last time I checked, GNC didn't have that. The problem with calcium carbonate is that you have to take them with food (ie. at meal times) to absorb the calcium. You might be better off with calcium citrate which can be taken any time. The other thing you should be aware of is that you need to take Vitamin D with calcium so that the calcium can be taken up into your bones. There are supplements with Vitamin D and calcium. You can also get calcium, Vitamin D and Vitamin K together in a… [cont.]

Is this calcium supplement safe for breastfeeding mothers?
Q. Each caplet contains 650mg of elemental calcium from carbonate, citrate, fumarat e,malate, succinate and glutamate. It also contains cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, purified stearic acid, silicon dioxide, vegetable magnesium stearate, hypromellose, polyethylene glycol and carnauba wax. It is manufactured by Jamieson Laboratories of Toronto Canada. I had a hard time browsing their website for answers so I just submitted my question here. Your answers would be greatly appreciated. Asked by Ms. Marvelous - Mon May 19 22:35:04 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Calcium citrate is a more easily absorbed calcium than carbonate. I don't know about the mg.'s in the type you're taking but any vitamin or mineral we take is only going to provide a portion of the actual milligrams listed. So a 500 mg. tablet of Vitamin C may only provide 200 mg. or more or less, depending on whether or not your body has enough of the other things needed to process the vitamin C. It all depends. The pill will be one amount, premeasured so they're all the same weight/size, but how much of it your body absorbs depends on what you've eaten or not eaten, and whether or not you have enough of it's co-nutrients in your system needed to process it. For instance Vitamin D is needed to process calcium, so someone who is… [cont.]

Are the essential metals found in foods/vitamins in their elemental states or are they bonded to something?
Q. Such as Potassium, 310 mg in a box of raisins. Is it by itself as K, an ion as K+, or bonded to something? I know Sodium probably isn't just in its elemental form, since it is so reactive. Others are metals like magnesium, zinc, calcium, chromium, etc.
Asked by GhostWriter - Mon Jul 14 21:49:14 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. They're all bonded to something, forming compounds. Very few things are found in nature in their pure form, as this would be too reactive.

A. 1) ionic bonding. yes their electronegativity and electropositivity. barium is 2+ and iodine is 1-. barium will gain 2 electrons. one each from the iodine so it'll need 2 iodine as the iodine will need to discharge an electron. 2) 89 Rb === 89 Sr + 0e 37 38 1 3) calcite is a crystalline substance. they have an arrangement similar to that of sodium chloride where each anion is bordered by cations. like charges do not come in contact with each other. when pressure is applied to the lattice and the anions come in contact with anions and cations with cations they repel each other and the structure shatters. hence the compound being brittle. 4) quarts is silicon dioxide and felspar is potassium aliminium sillicate. these are… [cont.]

A. Your body needs vitamins to be healthy. A lack of a particular vitamin can cause health problems. However more than you need does not do more good. Fortunately any excess is cleared by the body and is flushed down the loo. Some vitamins though are harmful if taken in extra quantities. An overdose of vitamin A for example is dangerous for pregnant women as it can cause birth defects in the baby. It can also cause growth retardation, hair loss, enlarged spleen and liver or even death. In the western world today we all have more than enough food to provide sufficient vitamins for our needs. We do not need to take extra. You can find the recommended daily allowance of vitamins on google. Look at government or medical websites though. Ignore… [cont.]

A. I don't know how good they are in terms of anti-aging, but most multi vitamins are great for the skin and more importantly, for your overall health. Most diets do not include all the vitamins and minerals your body needs on a daily basis. Every doctor I've ever known has always recommended a good one-a-day multi supplement for overall good health. Continue to take your One A Day's, but don't expect miracles. One pill can't be responsible for replacing a healthy diet, and lifestyle.

NH4+(aq) + OH-(aq) <---> NH3(g) + H2O(l) Ca2+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) ---> same it's soluble. The problem is whether they want full eqns, ionic or whatever so not really enough info. in that case I would defer to ionic eqn only. so only the top line will do in that case. Please clarify.

Chemistry Help With Unbalanced Chemical Equation!?
Q. The group 2 metals (Ba, Ca, Br) can be produced in the elemental state by the reaction of their oxides with aluminum metal at high temperatures, also producing solid Aluminum Oxide. Write the unbalanced chemical equation for reactions of barium oxide, calcium oxide, and strontium oxide with aluminum. Ty. :)
Asked by lelouchvibritannia17th - Thu Dec 17 02:06:17 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I'll assume that the reaction is conducted at high temperature in an inert atmosphere. Therefore, the unbalanced equation is: BaO + Al = Ba + AlO barium oxide + aluminum yields barium + aluminum oxide For the other two compounds just replace Ba with Ca or Sr. In reality, aluminum oxide is Al2O3. Therefore, you need 2 moles of Al and 3 moles of O. To get 3 moles of O you need 3 moles of BaO so you will produce 3 moles of Ba. The balanced equation is: 3BaO + 2 Al = 3 Ba + Al2O3
