What kind of vitamin is good for a 42 year old woman?
Q. I cannot take anything with iron because it causes constipation, but I feel I need some type of vitamin. Do other women around this age take vitamins? Any comments or suggestions are welcomed. Thanks!
Asked by i'm trying - Mon Apr 7 23:01:22 2008 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments

A. It really depends on your health. If you are healthy, it cannot hurt to take calcium with vitamin D. It helps to prevent bone loss when you get older. But, due to the constipation from iron, I would just take 1 or 2 calcium tablets a day - which would be about 500 mg. Calcium can cause constipation as well if you take too many. Potassium helps with constipation as does plenty of water and fruit.
